Analisis Semiotika Roland Barthes Dalam Film Dua Garis Biru Karya Sutradara Gina S. Noer

Abstract

This study aims: (1) Describe the meaning of denotation in the film Dua Garis Biru by director Gina S. Noer; (2) Describing the meaning of the connotation (3) Knowing the myths in the film. The theory used is Roland Barthes' semiotic theory which consists of denotation, connotation, and myth. The research approach uses an expressive approach with qualitative methods. Data analysis techniques used descriptive categorization steps and interpretation of the meaning of denotation, connotation, and myth. The results of this study are as follows. (1) the meaning of the denotation in this film is that the relationship between Dara and Bima resulted in Dara becoming pregnant outside of marriage at the age of adolescence so that it had an impact on their future in their family, school, and society; (2) The meaning of the connotation that pregnancy outside of wedlock in adolescence is a portrait and a problem that has often occurred in Indonesia. Dara is the representation of young women who have the most negative impact and risk even though pregnancy outside of marriage is the act of two people of the opposite sex. Dara had to be kicked out of school, kicked out of her parents' house, and shunned by her friends because her worries were vulnerable to ridicule from her friends, making Dara mentally disturbed; (3) The myth that the failure of a family is influenced by the good name of the family. The family name has an important role in determining the failure of a family. In the film the destruction of a family due to the deviant actions of their children and destroying the good name of the family so that parents feel they have failed in educating their children.
