Abstract: In learning the history of Islamic culture, there are many problems during the learning process. So this study aims to provide an understanding of something or a contextual learning approach to Islamic religious education in Madrasah Tsanawiyah N 1 Bengkulu city which is considered effective in learning SKI. In its discussion, this study uses a qualitative approach. Learning strategies are learning process activities that must be carried out by teachers and students so that learning objectives can be achieved effectively and efficiently. Contextual Approach (Contextual Teaching end Learning) is closely related to the process that must involve students. The results of the study show that the strategies in the SKI learning process in Madrasas are adapted to the situations and conditions at the school and are also adapted to the material to be taught. There are many Contextual Learning Strategies for SKI in Madrasah Tsanawiyah that integrate selection and get to know the contextual learning strategy approach to Islamic education. The selection of a strategic approach is intended to prepare prospective SKI N 1 Bengkulu city teachers who are able to integrate strategies and Islamic values ​​in learning so that they are able to produce learning that is able to improve the quality of students' spiritual attitudes and produce students who have good character.
