Pelatihan Pembelajaran STEAM Berbantuan Koding dan Artificial Intelligence Terintegrasi Budaya Lokal bagi Guru di SMP Labschool
Abstract
The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the era of Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0 requires teachers to be ready to integrate technology into learning. In practice, however, most teachers still have limited digital literacy, particularly in implementing AI and coding within STEAM learning. This community service program aimed to improve the competence of teachers at SMP LabSchool FIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta in designing STEAM learning media assisted by coding and AI integrated with local culture. The program applied a Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) approach carried out through five stages: socialization, training, technology application, mentoring and evaluation, and program sustainability. The training was delivered face-to-face through workshops, discussion and practice, and question-and-answer sessions, and was implemented in three phases: introduction, core, and deepening. The results show that the participating teachers gained a good understanding of STEAM concepts and of the use of the Scratch block-based visual programming platform integrated with AI and local cultural values. Teachers were able to independently design creative and interactive learning media relevant to students' needs. The program also increased teachers' digital literacy awareness and their motivation to innovate, and encouraged the continued use of technology-based learning media at the school. It can be concluded that STEAM training assisted by coding and AI integrated with local culture effectively improves teachers' competence and supports meaningful, contextual, and twenty-first-century-oriented learning.
