Analysis of the Relationship between the Eradication of Mosquito Nests and the Implementation of 3M Plus with the incidence of dengue fever in the working area of the Beringin Raya Public Health Center, Bengkulu City
Abstract
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease caused by the bite of the Aedes aegypti mosquito which is infected with a dengue virus. In 2019 there were 30 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever in the work area of the Beringin Raya Public Health Center, Bengkulu City, consisting of 17 male cases and 13 female cases and there were no cases of death due to dengue hemorrhagic fever. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between the eradication of mosquito nests and the implementation of 3m Plus with the incidence of dengue fever in the working area of the Beringin Raya Public Health Center, Bengkulu City. This study uses a survey method with a case control design. The research sample was 36 cases and 36 controls. The analysis was carried out using the Chi-Square test. The results of univariate analysis showed that respondents who did PSN 3M Plus were 31 people (43.1%) less and 41 people (56.9%). Meanwhile, the results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between PSN 3M Plus and the incidence of DHF (p<0.05). It is hoped that the puskesmas will be able to provide health education about the importance of carrying out PSN 3M Plus to reduce the incidence of DHF
