Upaya Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar IPA Melalui Strategi Snowball Throwing

Abstract

Science learning at MI Ma'arif Pabelan Semarang Regency has not used various strategies or active learning methods. This causes students to tend to be passive and students lack attention to the material presented by the teacher, especially material changes in the appearance of the earth and celestial bodies. Evidenced by the low learning outcomes of students who have not reached the KKM determined by the school 65. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in science learning outcomes in the material of changes in the appearance of the earth and celestial bodies through the snowball throwing strategy for fourth grade students of MI Ma'arif Pabelan, Pabelan District, Semarang Regency. This research is a classroom action research conducted in three cycles, namely cycle I, cycle II and cycle III. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The subjects of this study were 33 grade IV students. The results of this study indicate that the application of the snowball throwing strategy can improve the learning outcomes of science learning material on changes in the appearance of the earth and celestial bodies in grade IV students at MI Ma'arif Pabelan. The increase in students who completed learning from cycle I to cycle II was 18.19% and cycle II to III was 18, 18%. Completeness of student learning outcomes in cycle I 51.51% complete learning, cycle II 69.69% of students complete learning, and cycle III 87.87% of students complete learning.
