Webinar dan Workshop Digital Forensics: " Recovery dan Analisis File Terhapus pada Media Penyimpanan Menggunakan Kali Linux untuk Investigasi Bukti Elektronik "
Abstract
The rapid growth of digital storage usage in education, government, and business has increased the risk of data loss, whether caused by accidental deletion or cybercrime. Deleted data can often still be recovered as long as it has not been overwritten, making digital forensics an essential competency for identifying, recovering, and analyzing electronic evidence. This community service program was carried out to strengthen participants' understanding of digital forensics and to build practical skills in recovering and analyzing deleted files using Kali Linux. The activity was held on Saturday, 4 July 2026, through an online webinar and workshop in collaboration with the Informatics Student Association of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (HMIF UNIKOM). The program combined material delivery, live demonstration, hands-on practice with The Sleuth Kit (TSK), Foremost, PhotoRec, and TestDisk, and interactive discussion with resource persons. Evaluation was conducted through pre-test and post-test instruments and a satisfaction questionnaire distributed via Google Forms to the 20 active participants (out of 34 registrants). The results showed a clear increase in participants' correct-answer percentages from the pre-test to the post-test, with most post-test items reaching 90-100% correct answers, and very positive satisfaction ratings regarding the materials, presenters, and overall event. These findings indicate that combining conceptual explanation with hands-on practice effectively improves digital forensic literacy and provides a replicable model for community-based technology education.
