Pendidikan Islam Sebagai Strategi Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Dalam Membangun Karakter dan Akhlak Mulia

Islamic education has an important role not only in developing religious knowledge but also in shaping individual character and noble morals as the foundation for community empowerment. This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic education as a strategy for empowering communities in building character and noble morals. This research employs a library research method by examining relevant literature, including scientific journal articles, books, and other academic publications related to Islamic education, character education, noble morals, and community empowerment. The data were analyzed through a descriptive-analytical approach by identifying, comparing, and synthesizing ideas and findings from various sources. The results of the study indicate that Islamic education can function as a strategic instrument for community empowerment through the internalization of Islamic values, character formation, capacity building, community participation, and the development of social independence. Values such as honesty, trustworthiness, responsibility, justice, discipline, cooperation, and social concern can serve as moral foundations for community empowerment. Islamic educational institutions, particularly pesantren, madrasahs, mosques, and other Islamic social institutions, also have strategic potential to function as centers of education and community development. Therefore, the integration of Islamic education, character formation, and community empowerment can contribute to the development of communities that are not only knowledgeable and skilled but also morally responsible, independent, socially aware, and committed to collective well-being.
