Analysis of the Form, Meaning and Function of the Nundang Padi Tradition for the Selali Village Community, Pino Raya District, South Bengkulu Regency
Abstract
The aim of this research is to determine the meaning of nundang padi for the people of Selali Village, Pino Raya District, South Bengkulu Regency. To find out the function of nundang rice for the people of Selali Village, Pino Raya District, South Bengkulu Regency. Data collection techniques used by researchers are observation, interviews and documentation. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that: Analysis of the Form, Meaning and Function of the Nundang Padi Tradition for the Community of Selali Village, Pino Raya District, South Bengkulu Regency. (1) The nundang padi tradition is a tradition passed down from generation to generation which has two meanings, namely, a denotative meaning and a connotative meaning. So, from the two meanings above, from research on the analysis of the meaning and function of the Nundang Padi tradition for the people of Selali Village, Pino Raya District, South Bengkulu Regency, the denotative meaning is more dominant, because in the Nundang Padi traditional ceremony, more is told about what actually happened from the beginning of the formation of the Nundang tradition. this rice. Like a feeling of gratitude for the harvest obtained and the next dose of seeds that will be distributed to the community to face the next planting season. (2) The Nundang Padi tradition functions as a means of gathering or gathering between villages and exchanging ideas between residents of South Bengkulu. So from the results of the research and conclusions above what is more dominant in the nundang padi tradition are: recreational function, moral function, religious function.
