Development of an Assessment to Measure the Creative Thinking Skills of Students of Smpn 7 Seluma on the Material of Chemical Materials in Daily Life
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop an assessment to measure creative thinking skills in the material of chemical materials in everyday life in science learning for junior high school students. The method used in this study uses the Borg & Gall development model which consists of (8) eight stages, namely the needs analysis stage, data collection stage, product design stage, expert validation stage, design revision stage, small-scale trial stage, product revision stage, and usage trial stage. The research conducted only reached the small-scale trial stage. The instrument used was a validation questionnaire on the quality and development of creative thinking assessments of chemical materials in everyday life. The subjects in the study were 3 lecturers at the State Islamic University of Bengkulu consisting of 1 expert assessment lecturer, 1 expert material lecturer, and 1 expert language lecturer, and 1 science teacher as well as 10 seventh grade junior high school students. Data from the results of the questionnaire analysis by calculating the percentage of achievement in each component, namely 87.69% (assessment experts), 95.5% (language experts), and 82% (material experts) with a very suitable category for use. While the data from the results of the student response questionnaire analysis by calculating the percentage of achievement in each component, namely 80%, 72%, 90%, 78%, 80%, 78%, 76%, 80%, 90%, 90% with a very suitable category. From these data, it can be concluded that the creative thinking assessment of junior high school students 7 Seluma material on chemical materials in everyday life is suitable and students agree to be used as a science learning tool to support the teaching and learning process in the assessment of students' creative thinking
