JPI (Jurnal Pustaka Indonesia) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to advancing Language Studies across diverse linguistic, educational, and socio-cultural contexts. The journal publishes original research and critical scholarship in theoretical linguistics, applied linguistics, language education, and language-centered literary and discourse studies. JPI welcomes manuscripts addressing any language including, but not limited to, Indonesian, English, Arabic, local and indigenous languages, and other world languages while encouraging comparative, cross-linguistic, and interdisciplinary perspectives.

Jurnal Pustaka Indonesia is published in collaboration between the Yayasan Darussalam Bengkulu and the Association of Indonesian Language and Literature Lecturer (ADOBSI).

JPI aims to serve as an international forum for high-quality academic dialogue on how languages are structured, learned, used, taught, assessed, and represented in texts and society. The journal particularly values studies that demonstrate conceptual clarity, methodological rigor, and meaningful contributions to the development of language-related theories and practices.

Scope includes (but is not limited to):

  • Core/Theoretical Linguistics: phonetics/phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, typology, historical linguistics

  • Sociolinguistics & Language in Society: multilingualism, language variation, language policy and planning, language and identity, linguistic landscape

  • Psycholinguistics & Language Acquisition: L1/L2 acquisition, bilingualism, cognitive aspects of language processing

  • Discourse, Text, and Communication: discourse analysis, conversation analysis, rhetoric, genre studies, media and digital discourse

  • Corpus & Computational Approaches: corpus linguistics, digital linguistics, computational linguistics/NLP when grounded in language research questions

  • Applied Linguistics & Language Education: pedagogy, curriculum and materials, language assessment, classroom discourse, ESP/EAP, technology-enhanced language learning

  • Translation & Interpreting Studies: translation theories and practices, audiovisual translation, interpreting, terminology

  • Language-centered Literary and Cultural Studies: stylistics, narratology, literary discourse, comparative literature, critical theory with explicit textual/language analysis

  • Philology and Manuscript Studies: textual criticism, editing, and interpretation of manuscripts across traditions/languages

Peer Review and Publication Ethics
All submissions undergo editorial screening and double-blind peer review to ensure academic quality and integrity. JPI upholds internationally recognized publication ethics and follows best practices to prevent plagiarism, data fabrication, and unethical authorship.

Language Policy
JPI welcomes submissions in multiple languages. To strengthen international accessibility, authors are expected to provide an English title, abstract, and keywords, regardless of the manuscript language.
