Peer Review Overview

JPI: Jurnal Pustaka Indonesia states that research articles undergo a double-blind peer-review process. Submitted research articles are evaluated by at least two suitably qualified experts, and publication decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief using the reviewers' assessments.

The editorial board provides scholarly guidance, while managing editors and editorial assistants support the administration and integrity of the review process.

Review Procedure

1. Editorial Assessment

Editors consider submitted manuscripts for their relevance to the journal and their suitability for external scholarly review.

2. Double-Blind External Review

Research articles are reviewed by at least two qualified experts. The journal describes its standard as double-blind peer review, under which author and reviewer identities are protected during assessment.

3. Reviewer Recommendations

Reviewers provide scholarly evaluations and comments to inform the editorial decision. The editorial board may provide additional insight on specific submissions.

4. Editorial Decision

The Editor-in-Chief makes publication decisions on the basis of reviewers' comments and editorial assessment. Decisions may involve acceptance, rejection, or requests for revision.

5. Revision and Further Assessment

When revisions or additional assessment are required, authors are informed through the editorial process. A revised manuscript may be evaluated further when the responsible editor considers it necessary.

Review of Referred Manuscripts

Manuscripts Referred by Supporting Journals

For manuscripts referred through a journal referral process, JPI editors may consider relevant reviews and editorial assessments supplied by supporting journals.

The responsible editors may accept, reject, request revisions, or seek additional reviews as needed. Authors should be informed if further review is required.

Reviewer Responsibilities

JPI's Editorial Policies note that reviewers may decline assignments when unable to review fairly or promptly, and reviewers who accept an assignment are normally expected to return their comments within three weeks. Reviewers are expected to maintain confidentiality, declare conflicts of interest, and provide constructive, objective assessments.
